This is the second year for the Bigs in Blue Summit, a program that focuses on pairing law enforcement personnel as one-to-one mentors to children in the communities they serve. Since launching with the Tampa Police Department in 2017, more than 90 officers, deputies and support staff from law enforcement agencies have signed up to serve as volunteer mentors.
Join us for an interactive panel discussion as we dig deeper to discuss how mentoring can improve race relations and how this model can be duplicated with other law enforcement agencies. Our distinguished panel will include law enforcement officers, community leaders, experts in education, representatives from the juvenile justice system and even from the children themselves.
