A Message From India Williams
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay will always be a part of my family. Several years ago, I noticed that my daughter needed an additional adult role model to help her gain confidence within herself. Being a single mom with no help was extremely hard for me, so I decided to sign her up for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Her “Big Sister” provided her with constant, positive influence and helped her throughout the many challenges that she was facing. She even improved at school! As a mom, I quickly recognized the value of having a mentor in Tanaiyah’s life.
Potential lives within all of us…especially our kids. That’s why I’ve decided to register for Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Over the Edge fundraiser on Saturday, April 27th. Over the Edge is a unique fundraising event, providing me the thrilling opportunity of rappelling down 17 Stories of the Hilton Downtown Tampa.
My goal is to raise $1,500 which is the equivalent to the cost of making a match. It’s my way to step up and “over” to defend not only the potential of the 3,014 current matches, but also the 300+ kids on the waiting list, it’s my way to pay it forward because someone raised the $1,500 for Tanaiyah.
