I have a slight fear of heights and it will be a challenge for me to go over the edge, but I want to support Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Tampa Bay. Over the years I have volunteered for many local and international non profits. BBBS is the most supportive to both the volunteer and targeted population of all the organizations I have been involved with. They are constantly going over the edge to create and maintain successful matches and make a difference in the lives of at risk youth in our community. BBBS also puts on many wonderful event for Bigs and Littles that we wouldn't otherwise have access to. My Little Sister and I have been matched for over 4 years and it has enhanced both of our lives. Being a mentor and sharing life experiences has created more purpose in my life. We enjoy spending time together, having fun and implementing creative solutions to life's many challenges. Below are some words from my Little Sister. Big brothers and big sisters has helped me a lot academically and mentally.The program helped me realize how important college is and how important it is for me to focus on the future and plan ahead.My big sister has helped me get my grades up and now i am making honor roll every grading period when before i was barely passing.This program is a fantastic benefit to my life and it means a lot to me. They always make sure I'm ok and have everything i need and I'm grateful to be a little sister in this program!
